"한글은 매우 매력적인 언어입니다."“Hangul is a really charming language”
When i first visited Korea, specifically Seoul, what really caught my attention is their language, Hangul. I see Hangul as a very unique and beautiful language.
Hangul caught my interest, that is why I decided to learn the language. To explore and assimilate its beauty.
And as I think of it right now, I know I have made the right choice.
As I get to be more knowledgeable about Hangul, I discovered a lot of beautiful things not only about the language, but also the rich culture of Korea.
Of course, I won’t let this opportunity pass without all of you knowing more about the wonderful language of Korea, Hangul!
So for you to understand Hangul better here’s a little background!
Okay so, Hangul is an alphabetic syllabary, which means that there is a character for each sound, but they are joined together in syllabic units.
Hangul is divided into three (3) parts. The initial consonant which is called as the Ch’osong. The peak vowel which is called as the Chungsong. Lastly, the final consonant which is called as the Chongsong.

– This is how the characters are placed and used in Hangul.
So, in Hangul, there are 24 letters. Which consists of 14 consonants and 12 vowels. Also, Hangul can be written in vertical columns starting from top to bottom or in horizontal lines running from left to right.

– This is the Korean Alphabet with its corresponding pronunciations.
Next off, here are my 10 favorite Korean words and because you guys are the best, i’m gonna pronounce 4 words for you!
1. 열심히 (Yeolsimhi)
– It means to “Do your best” or to “Work hard”
“꿈을 이루기 위해 열심히 노력해야합니다.” (kkum-eul ilugi wihae yeolsimhi nolyeoghaeyahabnida.)
“We must work hard to achieve our dreams “
2. 여행 (Yeohaeng)
_ “Travel”
“여행은 살아야한다.” (yeohaeng-eun sal-ayahanda.)
“To travel is to live.”

3. 꿈 (kkum)
– “Dream”
“내 꿈은 세상을 여행하는 것입니다.” (nae kkum-eun sesang-eul yeohaenghaneun geos-ibnida.)
“My dream is to travel the world.”
4. 행복감 (haengboggam)
-“Euphoria” or a feeling of intense excitement and happiness.
“너는 나의 행복감의 원인이다.” (neoneun naui haengboggam-ui won-in-ida.)
“You are the cause of my euphoria”

5. 모험 (moheom)
– “Adventure/s”
“매일 나는 새로운 모험을 원합니다.” (maeil naneun saeloun moheom-eul wonhabnida.)
“Everyday, I seek for new adventures.”
6. 평화 (pyeonghwa)
– “Peace”
“여행은 내면을 평화롭게 해줍니다.” (yeohaeng-eun naemyeon-eul pyeonghwalobge haejubnida.)
“Traveling gives me inner peace.”

7. 용기 (yong-gi)
– “Courage”
“항상 배회하는 용기를 가져라.” (hangsang baehoehaneun yong-gileul gajyeola.)
“Always have the courage to wander.”
8. 행복 (haengbog)”
– “Happiness”
“방황 할 수 있으면 행복을 누릴 수 있습니다.” (banghwang hal su iss-eumyeon haengbog-eul nulil su issseubnida.)
“Being able to wander gives me happiness.”

9. 무지개 (Mujigae)
– “Rainbow”
“비가 내린 후에 항상 무지개가있을 것입니다.” (biga naelin hue hangsang mujigaegaiss-eul geos-ibnida.)
“There will always be a rainbow after a rain.”
10. 빛 (Bich)
– “Light” or to be positive
이 세상에서 어둠으로 가득 찬 빛이 되십시오. (i sesang-eseo eodum-eulo gadeug chan bich-i doesibsio.)
“Be a light in this world full of darkness.”
